Mountain Climbing
Begin your journey with a drive to Momella Gate for registration and briefing. Start your trek through the lush rainforest, accompanied by an armed ranger due to the presence of wildlife. The trail winds through grasslands and offers sightings of giraffes, buffaloes, and other animals. Arrive at Miriakamba Hut (2,514 meters) for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, continue your ascent through the forest and into the moorland zone. The trail becomes steeper as you approach Saddle Hut (3,570 meters). Upon arrival, you can rest and then take an optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820 meters) for stunning views of the surrounding area. Return to Saddle Hut for dinner and overnight stay.
Wake up early for a midnight start to your summit attempt. Trek through the darkness, passing Rhino Point (3,800 meters) and Cobra Point (4,350 meters) before reaching Socialist Peak (4,566 meters) at sunrise. Enjoy panoramic views of Kilimanjaro and the surrounding landscape. After celebrating your achievement, descend back to Saddle Hut for a short rest, and then continue down to Momella Gate. Transfer back to Arusha for a well-deserved rest and celebration of your climb.
